How Audition Nights Work

Sign up at /performer/register. Add your name, genre, bio, and a photo. Takes 2 minutes.

Get Approved & Scheduled

Our team reviews your profile and adds you to an upcoming Wednesday night lineup.

Perform for 15 Minutes

Take the stage and give it your all. The audience is watching — and voting.

Get Rated by the Crowd

After your set, audience members vote 1-5 stars from their phones. Judges score you on technique, originality, and stage presence.

Climb the Leaderboard

Scores carry over each week. Perform multiple times to increase your ranking and win the 6-week cycle.

The 6-Week Competition Cycle

Battle of the Bands runs in 6-week cycles. Every Wednesday is an audition night where performers build their scores. The more you perform, the higher you can climb on the leaderboard.

At the end of each cycle, the top-ranked performers are invited to a Showcase Finale — a big night with a packed house, where winners take home prizes and bragging rights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Every Wednesday IS the audition. There's no separate tryout — you register, get scheduled, and perform. Your scores accumulate over time.

We have a PA system and basic sound setup. Bands should bring their own instruments and any specific gear. Solo artists can use backing tracks via aux or Bluetooth. Comedians just need a mic — we've got that covered.

Audience members scan a QR code or enter a join code on their phone. After each performance, they rate the act 1-5 stars. You need to buy a drink to unlock voting — this keeps the votes honest and supports the bar.

Yes! In fact, that's the strategy. Your scores accumulate across the 6-week cycle. The more you perform, the higher you can climb on the leaderboard.

PoorHouse Kava is all ages until 9pm. After 9pm, performers must be 18+. All performers must be 18+ to register and compete.
